louise javier is a Copenhagen-based design collaboration by designers Louise Gjessø and Javier Velasquez

Conceived as a meeting point between Louise and Javier’s native cultures, the brand combines Nordic minimalism and innovative tailoring with a sense of Colombian warmth and vibrancy. The aim of louise javier is to envision a dialogue between perspectives, a space where contrasting forms reconfigure and coexist in harmony, “we discovered an aesthetic balance between Nordic minimalism and magic realism. Which ended up manifesting as a celebration of contrast – not as contradictions but as creative tension”. This dynamic tension—between structure and emotion, control and intuition —is at the heart of the concept of magic minimalism.  

At louise javier, we are dedicated to creating high-quality garments that stand the test of time. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and developed in our Copenhagen studio. Some garments are handcrafted in-house while others are produced in collaboration with highly skilled manufacturers based primarily in Europe and chosen for their exceptional craftsmanship and shared values.
